What are the best years for Quad 4?

If you are going to run carbs and the distributor, then any year from '89 - '94.

If you are going to use stock fuel injector any year is good except, the electronics do not always swap from year to year like many of the mechanical parts. Be sure to get the coil pack, wiring and computer from the same car.

What transmissions can you adapt to?

Quad 4 Rods makes 3 different adapters:

1. Bellhousing Quad 4 to GM manual for years '55 - '92
    Recommend T5 from '88 to '92
    S10 2 wheel drive pick up

2. Adaptor Quad 4 to GM Auto
    200 R4 is the best choice. Look for one with Chevy or dual bolt pattern.
    Use 2500 RPM Stall Converter for Street Use.
    3000 for High Performance
    3500 for Hard Launch
    Set Valve Body to shift at 6500 RPM

3. Bellhousing Quad 4 to Ford C4
    Use the 2500 RPM Converter from Mustang II.
